Artwork Project: Surrealistic Self-Portrait

Lesson Content: Students will create a self-portrait in Photoshop inspired by Natalia Seth’s photography. Students will brainstorm ideas that they would like to do for their self-portrait. Next, they will take photos of themselves. Lastly, students will begin composing their surrealistic self-portrait using a photo of themselves and a collection of stock images.

 

Students will be able to:

• Use media, technology, and other resources to derive ideas for personal art-making.

• Explore various themes to develop an image that communicates artistic intent.

• Manipulate content, media, techniques and processes to achieve communication with artistic intent.
